In 2026, Stichting Groene Stad Achter De Duinen and Willemsvaart.nl – boat trips in The Hague and Scheveningen – are again organising special Green City cruises, starting on Sunday 12 April 2026.
Leave the bustle of the city behind and discover the peace and beauty of nature from a different perspective.
We sail “from fresh water towards salt water” on a route described as unique in the Netherlands, along The Hague’s canals to Westbroekpark and back.
This year we pay special attention to the Act of Redemption, signed by William of Orange on 16 April 1576. It protects Haagse Bos, Koekamp and Malieveld against felling, allowing us to enjoy this beautiful natural area to this day.
Starting at Paxhaven on Prinsessegracht, this 1½-hour voyage reveals surprising stories about the city’s history, architecture and nature. An unforgettable journey of discovery, returning to Paxhaven on Prinsessegracht in The Hague.
Part of the proceeds supports the first full nature documentary about Haaglanden: Groene Stad Achter De Duinen. Your trip supports a worthwhile project!
